The Cone Nebula region in Monoceros. The Cone Nebula is on the left, the blue nebula on the right is IC2169, the big star cluster is Trumpler 5, and Hubble's Variable Nebula is the small comet-like object at the very bottom, left of center. Image was taken 25 March 2009 by Dail Terry and Scott Tucker. Telescope was a NexStar 11 GPS with HyperStar 3 lens and Starlight Xpress SXVF-M25C one-shot color camera. Three-frame mosaic, 100 x 30 seconds unguided exposures per frame.
